Technology and design in perfect harmony

Our work is framed by the belief that people today are only receptive to communication that is relevant to their lifestyle as well as original. Of course, the experience should also delight.

According to this principle, FB set the scene of a love story between a Korean woman dancer and a LG robot, personifying the harmony between 'LG advanced technology & stylish design'.

Our brand experience results:
+ overwhelmingly positive post-event feedback from dealers
+ instant increase in the number of sale orders
+ event recorded as excellence case study at LG Electronics global level

'Thank you very much for the impeccable organization of the event and your professionalism. Our phones keep ringing for orders since we returned to work. It's exactly the impact we expected but we never thought it would be possible at this level.'

(Ibolya Beres - Marketing Manager, Air Conditioning & Home Appliances, LG Electronics Romania)

Lesson: Experiential marketing can make the difference in a troubled economic context.

Event highlights here.

Results:
"Looking for a marketing agency able to understand our strategy and provide support with Baneasa Shopping City promotional activities, we organised a pitch in December 2008. The largest local BTL agencies -over 9 companies- were invited to participate. 2 months later, after several presentations, we selected Funky Business based on their creativity, original ideas and past experience.

The execution of our March campaign exceeded expectations – we were impressed by their focus on holistic differentiators, attention to the finest details and outstanding client communication."

We welcome a new member on board
Funky Business welcomes Veronica Munteanu as Business Development Director, to lead the new business department of the agency.
Her first marketing job was in the PR & Marketing department of a business management software company - Scala Business Solutions (which has merged with the multinational Epicor Software). After spending 1 year as Marketing Executive, she decided to join her colleagues in Sales.

'I got into the sales business because I could write, I could make people laugh and I could tell a good story...' is the way she remembers her decision to move towards sales.
'I've worked with some fantastic brands/people- Vodafone, ING, Radisson, Star Foods, Agrana Holding, Orkla Foods, Macromex, Adama Management, Sicomed, etc. You learn a lot when you interact with top folks at these companies. I've been blessed on this front.'

She left the software industry in 2008, after 7 years of working at Epicor.
She can distinguish patterns where others perceive mainly disorder, so being a strategist comes fairly natural. She finds her way with colleagues as easily as with customers, with a slight preference for the latter.
She is dedicated to delivering creative solutions that work: on time, on budget, on target.

What you should know
Generation G(enerosity)
During these challenging times, it seems that people are craving for empathy, sympathy and generosity, in a word, for institutions that truly care. "Generation G" can be described as an umbrella trend in consumer behavior, that incorporates the idea of "generosity" as a sort of leading social mindset, apparently in full rise at global level.

This trend seems to be the 'natural' after-effect of the consumers' disgust with some greedy corporations perceived as not caring anymore about their employees and customers.

Generation G is a wide variety of passionate, online active individuals that are more willing and able to give, engage, create, share and collaborate than their predecessors. Sharing a passion and receiving recognition are new status symbols, replacing taking and having.

"Online culture is the culture" - Kevin Kelly once stated. The virtual world is quite efficient in empowering this Generation G exponents. If we look at the figures below we can only nod in approval at such a statement.

+ 51.3 % of the entire European Union population are online on a regular basis (Internet World Stats, March 2009). In 2009, Romania's estimations are more than 12 million users, meaning ~54% of the general population
+ Facebook numbers 200 million users worldwide. In Romania, the social media is also expanding in reach. In February 2009, Facebook had registered over 64.000 Romanian users, with 18% more than in November 2008.
+ Wikipedia has 8,687,877 registered users and 1 billion videos are watched every minute on Youtube.

Why are these numbers relevant?
First, because they prove this collaborative, free, creative, sharing movement that the online has created.
Second, because they should be part of every post modernist marketing strategy.

Indeed quite challenging... as they describe the strong need of the new consumer to find status and gratification in something other than consuming the most or the best... in sharing.

What we like
'Shiny, beautiful, talented' people
The talents we worked with in February - Spheric Emotion & Metroccolis- created, thanks to the FB team event scenario, a new act called Star-crossed which will be added to both artists' portfolio and will be performed all around Europe.
Our colleagues are really proud they managed to be an inspiration for their artists!

We admire the interior and product designer Jean Marc Gady - and his works for:

+ Chanel no. 5 "eau premiere" experiential space,
+ Moet - Chandon product design for the service accessory range,
+ And Louis Vuitton in-store designs.

The latest in experiential marketing... Luxury pop-up spaces
