This is the first digital launch of a vehicle in Chevrolet’s 100 year history. Chevrolet literally “launched” its newest small car, the Sonic – by tying the vehicle to a bungee chord and rolling it off a ten-story structure in Long Beach, California. But that’s not all there is to this unconventional marketing stunt: the Sonic was “pushed” over the edge by over 2.4 million clicks from online users, making it the first social media-powered bungee jumping car.
